For ages 7 only: Join Librarian Robert in the Children's Room and learn to knit! Learn the basic skills to get started on a simple project and practice your stitching.

Join us for a fun-filled craft in the lobby that promotes the Los Gatos Seed Library. Learn more about community stewardship and how to collect and donate seeds, along with why native plants are so important to our community health and wellbeing.

Join the team from West Valley Community Services for their twice monthly Park-It Market. On the second and fourth Thursday of each month, WVCS offers free access to food inlcluding fresh produce, meat, dairy products, dry goods and canned food.

The Los Gatos Library has partnered with @GirlsWhoCode to create a club meant for people ages 12-18 to learn to code and change the world! "What will I Learn? Our middle and high school Clubs encourage you to impact the community in a positive way through code. In order to build the skills you need to make an impact, you will learn how to code from our fun online tutorials and activities that will help you build animations, games, apps, and other things that you dream up! Come join fellow needlework and textile arts enthusiasts at the library! Crafters of all levels are welcome to bring their projects and chat, teach, learn, and make new friends at this casual weekly get together. This group is entirely self-directed and you are encouraged to bring your own tools and materials. Do you have questions about your laptop, smartphone, or tablet? Join us for Drop-in Tech help. No appointment is needed, we help patrons on a first come first served basis. We meet in the 2nd floor Tech Lab and a clipboard for singing-up is at the 2nd floor reference desk starting at 2:30PM.

Take some time out of your afternoon to imagine and create! Join us for a crafty activity in the Children's Room. (Previously known as Tinker Tuesday.) This program is geared towards children ages 3 through ~10. This program takes place on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 4 pm in the Children's Room.

Join us for a Halloween-themed roll playing game, Adventure Skeletons. Players will make their way through the haunted Spirit Halloween to... liberate their skeleton kin? Take over the world? Go on vacation? The choice is yours!

October's theme is "cake or pie"! Each month we have a theme that you are free to interpret however you'd like. Choose a recipe to make from one of the many cookbooks or other resources in our collection- don't worry, we'll have plenty of suggestions for you! Then we'll meet to talk about books and cooking and enjoy each other's company. Photos of your finished dish are encouraged but not required. Are you Team Cake or Team Pie? Both? This month we'll be showing our team spirit by making either a cake or a pie, depending on which team you're on. You can make it sweet or savory, big enough for a crowd or small enough to be held in your hand- it's up to you! Think a Swedish smörgåstårta or a savory hand pie, or one of the many, many cupcake recipes available. Or if you really are Team Both, you might consider attempting the legendary cherpumple! Browse our incredible cookbook collection in the Library or our ebooks on CloudLibrary or The Palace Project, find something that looks interesting to you, and cook! Join us for a not-so-spooky Halloween celebration at the Library! Costumes are not required but encouraged at this Halloween-themed Storytime, which will take place outdoors on Civic Center Lawn. The fun continues afterwards in our Trick-or-Treat Parade, where we will circle around the Civic Center fountain. Library staff, Town staff, our friends from the New Museum of Los Gatos, LGS Recreation and the Friends Bookstore will have some goodies to pass out. Bring a bag or bucket for collecting goodies as you practice saying "trick or treat" (in words or in smiles!). See you there at the cutest event of the year!

At the Fratello Marionettes show, you will not only be amused and entertained, but will appreciate the very niche artistry of making the marionettes by hand, and the skill and craft of performing with them. Their Halloween variety show is family-friendly fun for all ages. The show features happy ghosts, Frankenstein, the Purple People Eater, a not-so-scary spider and more….and of course, no Halloween show would be complete without a witch! Register for this fun and meditative art class with local arts instructor, Makiko Niwa! For this class we will be making Gratitude Trees, made in combination with dropper art. Before the students begin painting, Makiko will lead a brief gratitude meditation to inspire them to reflect on what they are thankful for, and introduce different colors to the meditation practice. Each drop will symbolize something they are grateful for. This class is open to children ages 7-12, and registration is required. This class will take place in the Technology Lab on the 2nd floor.
